There are a lot of things that come into play when dealing with skin problems like acne. A cause such as puberty, heredity, hormonal imbalance and most importantly the food that is consumed play a very large roll, although some experts will disagree, research does prove that it has some effect. The old saying “You are what you eat” is very true and will show.

There is a definite relationship between a person’s nutrition and acne and other skin problems. Studies have been conducted showing that there are a few foods that can trigger an outbreak like fat found in animal products. Detoxifying is a good way to get rid of the toxins that accumulate in the body and playing havoc with their skin.

Large consumptions of proteins have proven to help in preventing acne breakouts mainly because it prohibits certain enzymes from producing oil and clogging the pores. Consuming acidic fruits such as grapes and citrus fruits are also good parts of a detox diet to help in preventing acne. Flushing the body of its toxins by eating foods that cleanse is also a good way to reduce skin problems.

A few people have shown so bad effects from detoxifying diet usually only for a short time period and the diet can actually cause a new outbreak. Do not give up! Continue on through the diet as the body will some times have the reverse reaction but your acne should clear up in no time.

A detox diet will never get rid of acne lesions or breakouts a lone. It provides a temporary cleansing of the body and provides temporary relieve. A change in eating habits to healthy foods along with the detox diet could serve as a long time cure for acne as well as other skin problems. Making better choices and changing your attitude towards what you eat, not only helps with your acne but will improve your over all system and provide a feeling of well-being and good health.
